Despite the recession, the UK still faces a shortage of tech professionals.

Research by tech jobs site The IT Job Board has found that there is still a skills shortage in the UK tech sector. e-skills UK, a not-for-profit sector skills council, said that about 140,000 vacancies a year need to be filled across IT professions. Yet the UK only has around 12,000 computer-science graduates annually.
