Demand for key IT skills remains high

Despite poor economic conditions, there is still a significant IT skills shortfall.

According to a survey by the UK’s National Computing Centre, demand for key IT skills will remain strong over the next two years. In particular, respondents have experienced problems recruiting people with skills in Oracle, SAP, .NET and business analysis. There is also growing need for expertise in .Net, VMWare, security technologies and ITIL. Overall, demand for IT employees is predicted to grow significantly. IT services companies expect staff numbers to rise by 20 percent over the next two years.
