The EU ICT skills framework

The purpose of the e-competence framework is to provide a Europe-wide reference for ICT skills and competences and thereby to meet the challenges posed by a rapidly developing ICT industry and satisfy growing demand for qualified personnel.

The first version of the framework (e-CF 1.0) was completed in 2008 and includes 32 ICT specialist and manager competences which are assigned to the five ICT business processes (dimensions). Work is currently underway on the second version of the framework (e-CF 2.0). An initial draft, which adds three more to the original competences, is now available.

Our decídalo application provides the preliminary version 2.0 of the e-competence framework on our test server. You can use decídalo to propose changes, write comments, or carry out your own self assessments.

We have also added German ICT skilled and continuing training occupations in our system. This means that, after completing your own self assessment, you can now compare your competency profile with diverse other ICT occupations.

decídalo enables you to try out the framework in practice. Our author system allows anyone to make an active contribution to the ongoing development of the framework.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like a brief online introduction to our application.

Further support is available in the decídalo brief instructions.
